Ongole mandal is situated in Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh, with 19 revenue villages administered through 14 gram panchayats. The 2011 Census recorded a population of 49,124 in 12,922 households, with a literacy rate of 59.1% and a sex ratio of 1,003. The mandal supported 25,030 workers, of whom 3,654 were cultivators and 9,606 were agricultural labourers. Post-Census data shows that 72.0% of households had access to tap water through JJM.
